Beautiful and Ride that is easy that in Spokane

The Fish Lake Trail is a comparatively brief, beautifully maintained path that is multi-use ideal for biking. We strongly recommend it. Oahu is the unofficial section that is northern of Columbia Plateau Trail. It starts in Spokane simply off western Sunset Blvd, nearby the intersection folks 195 and I-90. Re Search Bing maps for “Fish Lake Trailhead” also it will pop right up. Parking is abundant.

The path heads south and southwest in direction of Chaney, approximately following Spokane-Chaney path. The path crosses I-90 for a trestle, parallels US 195 for a rather brief distance (

Great path

Very nearly ten kilometers of paved path creates a ride that is fantastic. The Fish Lake Trailhead during the north end has parking that is amplewith overflow parking available in the street), restrooms, and water fountains. Going south after that, the path carefully rises around 1600 ft throughout the ten kilometers (about 3% grade, an average of) which makes it a simple ride. The southern 50 % of it gives scenery that is amazing the path turns eastern and follows the Cheney-Spokane path through the valley. It presently (June 2015) finishes during the end that is southern of Lucas Lake. I am hopeful for the staying BNSF home to be obtained as well as the path for connecting because of the Columbia Plateau Trail.

Simple trip, gorgeous path

A great path! All 10 miles are now actually paved and open with mile markers. It is a set and trail that is easy less individuals compared to the Centennial Trail. The primary trail mind is merely a mile from downtown with restrooms, water fountains and parking.

New Asphalt past mile eight.

The path happens to be extended past Scribner Rd. It is not officially open yet but i possibly couldn’t resist and rode it anyhow. One . 5 kilometers of brand brand new asphalt. By the end there clearly was an eight foot high string website link fence, therefore I back monitored to Scribner. You could conceivably get across the fence nonetheless and drive the still-closed, gravel path.

During the Scribner that is now paved Rd. I rode as much as the Spokane-Cheney highway.( Roughly 500 yards.)

Then rode the good shoulder that is wide a mile . 5 up a small grade to Southern Meyers Park Rd. you can find brown signs showing the Fish Lake trailhead into the left.

Sweet restrooms and loads of free parking. Then rode the gorgeous 3.75 miles into Cheney. There have been numerous turtles residing into the babbling brook operating down both edges regarding the path. It’s a tremendously small uphill grade through stones and woodland. The smells were intoxicating.

Turned right where in actuality the asphalt ends and went a half mile into city. There isn’t much here into the real means of drink and food but you can wet their whistle and relax prior to the return trip. We strike the mini-mart in regards to a half mile down First St. for many energy that is quick and rode back into the shady work work bench and kiosk during the path to savor them in tranquility.

Spring ’13-b

Made a decision to try the Marshall to Spokane Memorial Park element of the path. Good section of the path, paved, but don’t just like the cyclists that are”road whom ride in packages sometimes 3 abreast & force walkers from the region of the trail & glance at walkers like they do not belong in the path. Luckily for us only encountered one set of in regards to a dozen. All solitary riders had been quite courteous.

Fish Lake Revisited

Fish Lake Revisited

Just what differ from final period. Then it absolutely was all construction and gravel and confusion in the north end. Bad TrailBear was wandering about, shopping for the path. No path can be found. He could not think it is at Fish Lake ( maybe maybe not here yet) in which he could not believe it is in the north end. There have been some bits at the center, under construction.

Today, between rainfall showers, he got in a trip. Also had sunlight.

You will now drive about 7.3 kilometers of exemplary blacktop from a trailhead that is new Spokane – where in fact the tracks cross overhead – right down to Marshall in which the path presently comes to an end in which the S. Scribner Rd. crosses the proper of method.

The path is just an incline that is gentle to Marshall, where it finishes at an information kiosk on Scribner Rd. Ahead will be the NO NO signs while the locked right of method causing Fish Lake Trailhead. This is certainly for Stage III. Go as much as the Cheney Rd and make use of the wide arms to get down seriously to Fish Lake and hook up to the Columbia Plateau Trail and points south.

Fish Lake is a great trip. The path is placed on top of the relative region of the valley with good views and lined with pines. Active RR lines above and below keep things stimulating. Occasional benches are located in the 1st four kilometers. The older pavement in Marshall is showing cracks that are transverse.

It appeared to be there clearly was some after work action. As TB headed straight straight back, there have been more riders coming right down to Marshall.
